Travelers across Asia are always faced with questions on how to travel and give back as often their journeys take them through ultra rich and ultra poor communities. One hotel group in Africa seems to have this figured out.

A number of Volunteers-Tourism and Ethical Tourism initiatives exist across Africa. One program we like very much is the offered by The Royal Portfolio which is a luxury boutique chain with a very special charitable initiative. Their Foundation offers guests a way to give back to the local communities where they’re staying. A number of Asian hotel offer similar projects, but we like the simplicity of this one.
