Tourism is big business in Thailand. The number of international arrivals in Thailand increased from 35.35 million in 2017 to 37.28 million in 2018. The Office of the National Economic and Social Development Board says tourism accounts for 18.4 % of the GDP of Thailand. But what are the top provinces for tourism in Thailand?

Clearly beach vacations still attract the build of travelers to the Kingdom. But Thailand’s growth in tourism has been nothing short of miraculous.
In 2001 Thailand attracted slightly more than 10 million visitors. In 2018 the Kingdom welcomed more than 10 million Chinese travelers. Today Chinese tourist represent the largest single market for Thailand, accounting for about 27.5% of all arrivals.
The top provinces for tourism in Thailand have seen significant growth in tourism dollars, although its interesting to note that other less traveled provinces are working to attract more tourists. This is a stated goal for may in the next decade.
